Ram Air put us in a filthy, over hunted camp where we only saw a few small herds of caribou during our 6 day hunt.
Two days we saw no carbiou at all.  We were the last ones in to this camp for the year and believe we were put there as a matter of convenience since he picked up hunters when he dropped us off.  The tundra across the river from the camp looked like a battle field from Custer's last stand with numerous gut piles laying everywhere and crows flying around
looking for more.  When he picked us up he had flown the valley first and got out of the plane and said "there are no more caribou in the valley", which we were already well aware of!  He flew us out, never spoke a word during the trip, and when we got out of the plane he walked away, got into his truck and drove off without even saying thanks or come again.  After talking to two gentlemen on the trip home that have hunted the area for years we found out that the local transporters refer to him as Mike "Sleasak" instead of Spisak and that he brags that he makes his yearly salary in one month in Kotzebue.  The camp had a fire ring full of cans, bottles and broken glass (which took me a couple of hours to clean up and pick through), a number of empty propane bottles laying around, and no more than 20 yards from the camp there was a five gallon bucket half full of human waste.  It was still sitting there when we flew out.  In addition, we could easily see camps both north and south of us when glassing areas for game.  The old timers told us this is also one of his tacitcs, he puts camps too close together and over hunts areas. My son and I have already decided to hunt Kotzebue again next year, but
I can assure you it won't be with Ram.
TIP:  Ask your transporter these questions before you book:  Do they
put you in other camps?.  Can you expect to be put in a location that is
dirty from other hunters?
Ask your transporter before you fly:  If they do put you in other camp
locations how many animals were killed there?  What are the nearest
camps?
